Host Bio

Making It Big sounds like a knockoff of The Apprentice, but it's a much more realistic, Canadian-made series about getting a big career break. Each episode follows three qualified applicants for a high-profile job as they pitch their skills to a top person in the field. There is much less phony behaviour than you get in other reality series and recently the New York Times said it liked it.
-John Doyle, The Globe and Mail

Making It Big premiered in spring 2005 on Life Network (Canada) and Oxygen Media (U.S.). Now 13 new episodes are in production for the second season. From music video directors to fashion photographers, from pastry chefs to
songwriters, Making It Big takes you behind the scenes of the most coveted professions and reveals what it takes to succeed.

In each episode of this original series, three up-and-comers from across North America face the toughest challenge of their young careers as they vie for a reward money can't buy - connections with industry experts and mentoring by a high-profile leader in their industry.

Mentors and experts featured in the first season include world-renowned chef Daniel Boulud of Daniel's in New York City, Madonna's creative director/choreographer Jamie King, Emmy Award-winner Dayna Devon, host of entertainment newsmagazine Extra, Fashion Director of Saks Fifth Avenue, Michael Fink, Senior VP of Dick Clark Productions, Barry Adelman and North America's top dance/choreography agent Tony Selznick.

"It was the best experience of my life. Making It Big instilled the confidence in me to believe that I can and will accomplish everything I go after. This past summer I produced my first million dollar wedding."
-Nicki Harris, Wedding Planner episode winner

"Making It Big accelerated my career and opened doors for me at a level I had only dreamed of."
-Maria Panopalis, Entertainment Reporter episode winner

Making It Big is highly entertaining and brings a high level of integrity and insight to career development. The series inspires viewers to dream big, face career challenges and strive for success.
